Soccer Camp 2011! “Caution” Kids Under Construction
Pastor Nate taught a series of lessons from the book of Nehemiah during our camp counsel times last week. In Nehemiah 6:5 it says that Nehemiah received an open letter from Israel’s enemies that accused them of rebellion. That letter, which was meant for everyone to read, was designed to discourage the people from promoting the security & prosperity of Israel by rebuilding the walls of its capital city Jerusalem. This is an open letter to all of those who attended and served at Soccer camp this year. This letter is meant to thank and encourage all those who had a part in this important ministry of Nevins Lake Church.
Thanks:
- To all the campers who came, and to their parents for allowing & encouraging them to come.
- To all those who served this week in so many different areas: Coaching, drills, music, snacks, crafts, sound equipment, T-shirts, pictures, field striping, set-up, clean-up, etc.
- To those in our church family who supported us as they were able to by praying, giving and-or attending.
- To Bush Hardware for the use of the lift truck this week
- To those who served who regularly attend another church
- To the leadership team of our camp: Pastor Nate, Tim Sebald, Lisa Cogswell & Vicky Olsen.
Some Statistics:
Registered Campers: 94
Low attendance: 74
High attendance: 82
Number of leaders & helpers: 65
Hot dogs served on Friday night: 200
In my opinion Soccer Camp is probably the best supported, practical outreach ministry that we have as a church. In time, certainly in eternity, the true success of our soccer camp will be known to us. Please know that your service and sacrifice of time & energy to serve God was not only appreciated, but will be appropriately rewarded by God Himself.
